New Tiny Sculptures for Sale

'Embryo' Series (no.1)
$120.00

A series of 7 unique, handmade tiny sculpture pieces, inspired by the amazing and awe-inspiring early stages of animal and human embryonic development where a single fertilized egg cell divides, grows and organizes itself to create a whole new individual being. The creamy, slightly speckled porcelain was hand formed, completely dried, fired to low temperature, clear glazed, refired at high temperature, and finally accented with a tiny perfect ring of real gold applied as a luster, before being fired for a third and final time to set. Some pieces were then attached with adhesive to a substrate of repurposed, varnished slate sections. Some could be used as tiny vessels or vases, to display for example a tiny air-plant or focus attention on a budding succulent plant leaf as it performs its own miracle, growing new life. All 5 to 7cm high.
